Application: CSC Contract Hours Auto-Submit

1. Agreement

By signing in to and using the CSC Contract Hours Auto-Submit web application ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility and Authorized Use

The App is provided exclusively for use by:

Surgeons on the approved roster maintained by the UBC Department of Urological Sciences ("the Department"), and
Administrative staff of the Department who are explicitly designated to operate the App.

You may use the App only to submit contract-hours documentation that is genuinely your own and that you are contractually required or authorized to submit. You may not use the App to submit documentation on behalf of any other person, except where the Department has explicitly designated you to do so in writing.

3. Account and Identity

The App uses your Google account email address, obtained via Google OAuth, to confirm your identity and match it against the approved roster. You are responsible for:

Keeping your Google account credentials secure.
Signing out of shared computers after using the App, so that other people cannot submit files under your identity.
Promptly notifying the Department if you suspect that someone has used your Google account without your authorization.

Submissions made while you are signed in to the App will be attributed to you in the Department's audit ledger.

4. Your Submissions

You retain ownership of the files you submit. By submitting a file through the App, you grant the Department a non-exclusive licence to:

Store the file in the Department's Google Drive resources.
Forward the file, in its original or processed form, to the contractually-designated recipients identified in the Department's submission workflow.
Run automated validation, analysis, and archival processes on the file as described in the App's documentation.

You represent and warrant that:

The information in your submissions is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
You have the right to submit each file and to grant the licence above.
Your submissions do not contain malicious software, do not infringe any third party's rights, and do not violate any law applicable to you.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not:

Use the App to submit any file that is not legitimate contract-hours documentation.
Attempt to submit files on behalf of any roster member who has not authorized you to do so.
Attempt to bypass, probe, or otherwise interfere with the App's authentication, validation, rate limiting, or any other security mechanism.
Use the App to upload malware, illegal content, or content that violates any third party's rights.
Use automated tools to interact with the App except as part of the intended submission workflow.

The Department may suspend or revoke your access at any time for any violation of these Terms, or for any conduct the Department reasonably believes is harmful to the App, the Department, or other users.

6. Availability and Changes

The App is provided as a tool for the Department's internal workflow. The Department:

Does not guarantee any specific availability, uptime, or response time.
May modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, or any feature of it, at any time and without prior notice.
May change these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to roster members at their registered Google account email address before they take effect.

7. No Warranty

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

The Department does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any defect will be corrected.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will the Department, the University of British Columbia, or any of their respective officers, employees, or agents be liable to you for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or
Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity,

arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if the Department has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in this Section limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Department, the University of British Columbia, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or expense arising out of:

Your breach of these Terms, or
Your submissions to the App, or
Your use of the App in violation of any law or any third party's rights.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the App will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

11. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the App's Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Department regarding your use of the App, and supersede any prior agreement on that subject.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
